Derron Rogers

June 4, 1974 - March 2, 2024

Derron Rogers, 49, of Nederland, Texas, peacefully passed away on March 2nd, 2024.

Derron was born on June 4th, 1974, to Bert Sr. and Sandra Rogers in Beaumont, Texas.

Derron lived a joyful childhood in Nederland, Texas, enjoying his life with his parents, friends, and his community. He spent most of his adolescent years enjoying his time playing soccer with the Blackhawks Soccer Team and preparing to be the next Rick Springfield.

Derron graduated High School from Nederland and went on to college at the University of Mississippi Ole Miss. After Ole Miss, Derron went on to live in Austin, Texas where he worked, spending the time of his life in bars and restaurants around the city being the extraordinary people person that he was.  Derron returned to Nederland to be back with this parents and friends in 2008.

Derron loved being at the beach, crabbing, watching football, and spending time with his closest friends drinking beer and listening to country music. He was a major music buff and loved doing Karaoke every chance he got. If Derron knew one thing, he knew how to have fun! Derron loved our great country and was so proud to be a Texan! He was a huge fan of our President Trump to say the least.  Derron loved spending his last years on vacations in Illinois with his “Illinois Family” as he would say. Derron was loved by many, and Derron loved all that he could with a HEART AS BIG AS TEXAS.

Derron was preceded in death by Bert Eugene Roger, Sr. (father) and Sandra Lynn Rogers/Gray (mother). He is survived by Bert Jr. Rogers (brother), Rebecca Rogers (sister), Laci Rogers (niece), Elijah Stone Rogers (great nephew), James and Judy Gray (Uncle and Aunt). Derron had too many “brothers & sisters, parents, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews” that were not blood related but we all are most certainly 100% true family to Derron and loved Derron as such!!

Derron chose that he did not want any funeral or sad services held on his behalf. He only wanted a party! For people to come together and enjoy a night having fun and sharing old memories with each other. Play music, sing, drink some beer, and reunite once again. Derron asked that at his party we share his mother’s pictures with all that attend.. Sandra had taken 1,000’s of photos of the community over her lifetime and he would like them to be taken by all that want them so they can be continued to be treasured as they always have been. That’s just who he was. So, there will be the following celebration of Derron:

Derron Rogers’s Celebration of Life Party

Being held on Friday May 31st, 6:00pm _12:00 am___ PM at:

Knights of Columbus (KC Hall) located at 315 Hardy Ave., Nederland, TX

In lieu of any flowers, Derron would request donations to be made to Grant’s Guardians at P.O. Box 1343, Nederland, TX 77627. An organization that Derron felt strongly about.  We will have a donation jar at the celebration to collect for this worthy cause.

I had the honor to office next to Derron for several years at Philpott. Everyone at the dealership loved him, and his parents. I remember his Mom’s special cookies, and treats that she would bring to the dealership all of the time. He loved his parents dearly. Derron could not sell worth a damn, but he sure could talk your ear off. EVERYONE loved him, his humor, and his laughter. He will be missed by everyone that knew him. Only people that were very close to Derron will get this, TRUMP 2024!!!
