Doris “Nell” DuBose

Doris Nell DuBose, 87, of Lumberton, died Tuesday, March 5, 2024.  She was born on August 28, 1936, in Chester, Texas, to Doris Tarver Platt and Ellis Platt.

Survivors include her husband, Marvin DuBose; children, Kenny Powell and his wife, Susan, of Weatherford; Cathy Hegwood and her husband, Joe, of Bryan; Cindy Sherrick and her husband, Aaron, of Lumberton; LaNell McDaniel and her husband, Russell, of Beaumont; and Wayne DuBose and his wife, Carolyn, of Diboll; grandchildren, Lauren Randall and her husband, Raymond, of Kerens; Kenny Powell and his wife, Mannin, of Ft. Worth; Brian Powell and his wife, Alex, of Liberty Hill; Jenny Sims and her husband, Scott, of Dickson, Oklahoma; Kara Hegwood of Austin; Cori Pacanins and her husband, Chris and Cole Hegwood and his fiancée, Paisely, all of Vancouver, Washington; Josh Cheney and his wife, Meagan, of Beaumont; Amanda Hutchens and her husband, John, of Lexington, Kentucky; Neal Bost and his wife, Erin, of Thousand Oaks, California; Stephen Bost and his wife, Michelle, of Livingston; Thomas Bost and Michaela, of Santa Monica, California; Tyler DuBose and his wife, Caitlyn, of Diboll; Austin DuBose and his wife, Kristen, of Lufkin; Crystal Moulds and her husband, Dustin, of Lumberton; Howard Sherrick of Silsbee; Kathryn McDaniel of San Marcos; and Kyle McDaniel of Austin; twenty-seven great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Kenneth Powell; brother, Shelton Platt; granddaughter, Monica Hegwood; and great-grandson, Holden Hegwood.

A gathering of Nell’s family and friends will be 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Monday, March 11, 2024, at Broussard’s, 490 Cemetery Road, Silsbee.  Her funeral service will be 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 12, 2024, at Broussard’s.  Her interment will follow at 2:00 p.m., at Broaddus Cemetery, Broaddus.
