Doris Walker Jackson

Doris Walker Jackson, 81, of Beaumont, died Sunday, June 3, 2018. She was born September 27, 1936, in Honey Island, to Maurine Crosby and L.C. Walker. A graduate of Honey Island High School, Class of 1954, Doris graduated with honors, and was the class Salutatorian.

Doris was a longtime resident of the area and a real estate broker, with Buddy Wilbur Real Estate, in Winnie. She enjoyed the company of her many friends. She will be remembered for her many successes, including ranching and real estate, as well as her physical and inner beauty.

Survivors are daughters, Sherri Rainwater and husband, David, of Cheek; and Holly Sanders of LaBelle; grandchildren, Hannah, Sydney and Taylor; two great-grandchildren; sister, Gloria Walker of San Augustine; nieces, Sebrena and Alyssa Gail.

She was preceded in death by parents; and the love of her life, husband Arthur T. Jackson.

A gathering of Mrs. Jackson’s family and friends will begin at 1:00 p.m. followed by a 2:00 p.m. funeral service, Thursday, June 7, 2018, at Broussard’s Chapel, 134 West Buccaneer Drive, Winnie. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Winnie.
