Dorothy Lucia Bouley

Dorothy Lucia Bouley, 87, of Winnie, died Tuesday, September 12, 2023. She was born on August 5, 1936, in Kaplan, Louisiana, to O’Neil Joseph Abshire and Nola Marie Cormier.

Survivors include daughters, Margarette Bouley of Winnie, and Jeanette L. Ellis – Bouley of New Braunfels; grandsons, Jessie L. Ellis of Mauriceville, and Donald O. Bouley, of Winnie; granddaughters, Regina Bouley – Sweeten and her husband, David, of Portales, New Mexico, Nicole Bouley – Ford and her husband, Will, of Seattle, Washington, and Daphne Bouley – Nix and her husband, Billy, of Germany; greatgrandchildren, Cristal Ellis and her husband, Ray, of San Francisco, Celia Ellis of Madison, Alabama, Kameron Ellis, of Nederland, Ethan Ellis of Bridge City, Lilly Sweeten of Portales, Billy and Danielle Ford of Seattle, and Daisy Bouley of Galveston; step greatgrandchildren, Harmony Walton, Jasmine Walton, and April Perko; and numerous nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jessie Bouley, Sr.; son, Jessie Bouley, Jr.; granddaughter, Christian Michelle Ellis; grandson, SFC Charles W. Ellis II; two brothers; and two sisters.

A gathering of Ms. Bouley’s family and friends will be from 9:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m., with Rosary recited at 5:00 p.m., Sunday, September 17, 2023, at Broussard’s, 134 Buccaneer Drive, Winnie. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 a.m., Monday, September 18, 2023, at St. Louis Catholic Church, 315 Buccaneer Drive, Winnie, with her interment to follow at Fairview Cemetery, Winnie.
