Dorris “Dory” Covington
Dorris “Dory” Covington 85, a proud veteran of the United States Airforce, passed away Sunday, October 16, 2022.
A native of Nashville, Tennessee and a resident of Beaumont, Dory was born January 1, 1937, to Susie Rena Tucker and Dewey Covington.
Survivors include children, Patrick Sean Covington and his wife, Sonja; Dory Westley Covington and his wife, Krystal; eight grandchildren, Sean Covington and his wife Breeze; Noelle; Craig Weston; Anna Rose; Kylie; Kai Lucien; Kayla; and Jeremy; and four great- grandchildren, Athena, Patrick Sean III, Remy and Paisleigh.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Oneida “DeeDe” Covington; his parents; and his siblings, Margaret Bell, Beulah Mae McCarthy, Josephine Covington, Joe Covington, William Covington and Burtis Covington.
A gathering of Mr. Covington’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 19, 2022, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. A Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, October 20, 2022, at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 5075 Bigner Road, Beaumont. Mr. Covington’s cremation arrangements will be handled through Broussard’s Crematorium and a burial of his cremated body will be held at Houston National Cemetery at a later date.
