Edward Theodore Robbins, Jr.

August 1, 1934 - February 3, 2024

Edward Theodore “Ted” Robbins, Jr., 89, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 3, 2024, at his home in Silsbee, Texas.  He was born on August 1, 1934, in Port Arthur, Texas, to Lillian Breaux Robbins and Edward Theodore Robbins, Sr.

Ted graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1953.  He worked for BF Goodrich/Ameripol Synpol as an electrical engineer until he retired in February 1996, after thirty years.  Ted built his home in Silsbee, Texas in 1994.

He was a member of St. Mark Catholic Church in Silsbee.  He was always willing to help with whatever anyone needed.  Ted was a jack of all trades and if something needed to be done, he could find a way to do it.  He helped his daughter, Cindy and her husband, Mike build their home and also helped with the building of his son, Drew and his wife, Sheri’s home.

In his retirement, Ted and Ann enjoyed traveling in their motorhome, working in his shop building things for family and friends to enjoy, and working in his garden and yard on his tractor.

Survivors include his loving wife of thirty years, Therese Ann Benoit Robbins; brother, Travis Robbins and his wife, Angie; children, Ricky Robbins and his wife, Mauve; Mark Robbins and his wife, Karen; Drew Robbins and his wife, Sheri; Todd Robbins and his wife, Tammie; Royce Robbins and his wife, Sandy; Cindy Robbins Doyle and her husband, Mike; Gene Robbins and his wife, Debbie; and Rodney Cooper and his wife, Sandy; much loved grandchildren, Billy Paul Van Pelt, Gregg Robbins, Lori Shaw, Becky Stewart, Chris McRee, Joe McRee, Lucas McRee, Katie McRee Perkins, Shane Robbins, Jesica Kline, Lisa Rand, Heather Robbins, Amanda Hand, Leticia Sedatole, Landon Louviere, Derek Landreneau, Chrissie Hartley, Daniel Cline, Amanda DeLos Santos, Jason Robbins, Brandi Johnson, Brooke Ancelet, Kyrie Boudreaux, Brady Robbins, Corey Robbins, Carly Robbins, Madelyn Robbins, Derek Cooper, and Courtney Cooper Habitz;  and fifty-two great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, James Robbins and Charles Robbins; grandchildren, Shawn Robbins and Cory Landreneau; and great-grandson, Jaden Cross.

A visitation of Ted’s family and friends will be 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 6, 2024, at Broussard’s, 490 Cemetery Road, Silsbee.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, February 7, 2024, at St. Mark Catholic Church, 905 North 9th Street, Silsbee, with his interment to follow at Magnolia Cemetery, Beaumont.

    I am so sorry for your family’s loss. What a blessing to have your dad for so long.
    I wish I could attend the service and see all of childhood neighbors and reminis about old times, but I have a cough.

    I’m at Ted robins when I join Saint mark’s Catholic church Ted was an individual person well-educated a very good gentleman a good friend and A. Good companion for anybody that needed help he never turned down anybody who he could help. I never heard him gossip on any kind of gossiping. He was always a very polite gentleman to all people he was my hero he was my mentor I am going to miss him very much. May the petrol light shine It was a good steward a good man a good husband a good friend God bless you.

    I enjoyed working with him around a church around our home around his garage.
