Guy H. Morris, Jr.
Guy H. Morris, Jr., 69, of Sour Lake, died Tuesday, May 28, 2019. He was born on December 15, 1949, in Beaumont, to Sarah Haywood Morris and Guy Hooker Morris, Sr.
Survivors include his wife, Kathy Morris of Sour Lake; sons, Guy Morris V and his wife, Sarah, of Nederland; Drew Morris; and Kirk Morris, both of Sour Lake; sister, Sally Ann Cannon and her husband, James, of Lumberton; grandchildren, James Morris, Mathew Morris, and Kenzie Morris all of Nederland; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
He was very close to his numerous sisters-in-law and brothers-n-law and enjoys hours of comradery with all of them.
His cremation was handled through Broussard’s Crematorium, under the direction of Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont.
Memorial contributions will be made in Mr. Morris’ memory to The Arc Of Greater Beaumont, 4330 Westridge Lane, Beaumont, Texas 77706.
His favorite passion was music, especially Rock N Roll, Beatles, and Country. He and his band, Centerstage, played locally at several restaurants.
Guy not only was a lifelong special educator and administrator; he also walked the walk and talked the talk. After their twin sons were born and diagnosed with Autism and Cerebral Palsy, he and his wife were awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award for Serving Persons with Disabilities by The Arc Of Greater Beaumont in 2017.
