Ita Louise Cornwell
Ita Louise Cornwell, 85, of Lumberton, died Saturday, February 10, 2024. She was born on September 10, 1938, in Beaumont to Sarah Laura Stansbury and Joseph Madison Burrous.
Survivors include her children, Robert Bynum of Lumberton; Brenda Legendre and her husband, Dane, of Lumberton; and Todd Bynum and his wife, Carolyn, of Friendswood; stepchildren, Robert Cornwell; Mark Cornwell; Paul Cornwell; Maxi Cornwell; Grover Cornwell IV; and Sybille Voyles; grandchildren, Garrett Bynum; Will Tanner and his wife, Bethany; Holley Leon and her husband, Dale; Courtney Hillin and her husband, Brandon; and Ashley Kelly and her husband, Quincy; great-grandchildren, Moriah; Josiah; Elijah; Hunter; Holdyn; Harrison; Parker; Rylan; Miyah; Mayson; Honey; Quincy, Jr.; and Brooklynn; and nephew, Kenneth Stansbury and his wife, Andi.
Ita is preceded in death by her husband, Grover G. Cornwell III; mother, Sarah Wilson; mom and dad, Robert and Louise Stansbury; stepson, James Cornwell; and grandsons, Justin Tanner and Christopher Dylan Bynum.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105 or Infant Jesus Catholic Church, 243 South LHS Drive, Lumberton, Texas 77657.
A gathering of Mrs. Cornwell’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 14, 2024, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. Her funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday, February 15, 2024, at Broussard’s, Beaumont with her interment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Beaumont.
