Ivalyn Anderson

Ivalyn Ann Anderson, 80, of Nederland, died Saturday, December 30, 2017. She was born on March 29, 1937, in Gilmer, to Fayrine Shaw Hawkins and S.G. Hawkins.

Ivalyn played the piano and organ for her church. She cooked the best smothered fried potatoes. Ivalyn was an avid reader, enjoyed thrift shopping, and knew how to write in shorthand.

Survivors include her sons, Anthony Bryan Anderson of Beaumont; Leo Daniel Anderson, Jr. and his wife, Evangeline, of Tampa, Florida; and Jarrod Delon Anderson and his wife, Doralee, of Nederland; grandchildren, Jessica Michelle Anderson, Andrew Preston Anderson, Landon Nathaniel Anderson, Cayden Daniel Anderson, Kinley Bryann Anderson, Benjamin Daniel Anderson, Ethan Jarrod Anderson, Rachel Ann Anderson, and Emily Grace Anderson; brothers, Leonard Louns Hawkins, Ronald Wayne Hawkins, and Darwin Quinn Hawkins; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Leo Daniel Anderson, Sr.; and brother, Sidney Gary Hawkins.

A gathering of Mrs. Anderson’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 3, 2017, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. Her funeral service will be 1:00 p.m., Thursday, January 4, 2017, at Broussard’s, with her interment to follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Orange.

Condolences to the Anderson family for Ivalyn passing away. I did not know her personally but I do know her sons and grandchildren. I am sure sister Ivakyn will be greatly missed. God bless you.
