James Johns, Sr.

James “Jim” Johns, Sr., 91, of Vidor, died Friday, January 26, 2018. He was born on November 10, 1926, in Sioux City, Iowa, to Nellie Coleman Johns and Riley Raymond Johns and was a United States Navy veteran.

Jim is survived by his sons, Warren Johns, Sr. and his wife, Deedra; James Johns, Jr., and Michael Johns and his wife, Gail; grandchildren, Ginger Plumley; Jennifer DeLonzo and her fiancé, Eric Pooler; James Johns III and his wife, Camille; Jessica Gibbon and her husband, Dave; Miken Sheets and her husband, John; Kristen Basmajian and her husband, Ben Huber; Lauren Hansen; and Warren Johns, Jr., and his wife Kristen; numerous great-grandchildren; numerous great-great grandchildren; brothers, Richard “Dick” Johns; sisters, Loretta “Jean” Hammett, Wanda Lou Johns, and Maxine “Mae” Phillips; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents; mother of his children, Frances Johns; wife, Doris Johns; sisters, Wilma Pauline Harris, and Betty Jane Walberg’ and brother, Robert Able Johns.

A private family committal was held at Broussard’s Crematorium, Beaumont. The burial of his cremated body will be held at a later date in Cape May, New Jersey.
