Jeanna Marie Hamilton
Jeanna Marie Hamilton, 85, of Port Arthur, died Tuesday, April 6, 2021. She was born December 22, 1935, in New Iberia, Louisiana to Leila Landry Desormeaux and Nelson Desormeaux.
Jeanna was a published poet. She was known to be a very bold woman. She had a knack for being in charge. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, sewing, and singing. Jeanna will be remembered and missed greatly for her generous spirit.
Survivors include her husband, Gerald Hamilton, of Port Arthur; daughter, Tonnera Walls and husband, Jeremy, of Newton; sons, Dalton Norris, Jr., of Nederland and Coby Norris, of Opelousas, Louisiana; stepchildren, Dwayne and Jeffrey Hamilton and Ramona Kaye Hamilton; granddaughter, Jessica McQueen, of Bossier City, Louisiana; brother, Jay Desormeaux and wife, Judy, of Cleveland; and sister-in-law, Betty Desormeaux.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Leila and Nelson; sisters, Lou Delcambre and Agnes Norris; and brothers, Joe Desormeaux and Willie Desormeaux.
A gathering of Mrs. Hamilton’s family and friends will be from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m., Saturday, April 10, 2021, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. Her cremation arrangements will be handled through Broussard’s Crematorium, Beaumont.
