Jimmy Drake
Jimmy Drake, 78, of Silsbee, died Saturday, April 20, 2024. He was born on March 17, 1946, in Silsbee, to Oneida Faye Martin Drake and Jessie B. Drake.
His life consisted of family, working, hunting, fishing, and farming. He worked at Kirby Lumber Company for many years.
Jimmy is survived by his loving wife, Glenda Drake; son, Jessie Drake and his wife, Jessica; grandchildren, Dakota Larkin Drake and Madelyn “Maddie” Ann Drake; and brother, Michael Drake and his wife, Shirley. He also leaves behind several nieces and nephews whom were all special to his heart including, Rhonda McNeil, Robert Shaffer, Jr., Kenny Shaffer, Roger Shaffer, and Melissa Primerose and her husband, Marvin.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Oneida and J.B. Drake; daughter, Sarah Elizabeth Drake; and brother, David Earl Drake.
A gathering of Mr. Drake’s family and friends will be 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 23, 2024, at Caney Head Assembly of God, 8525 Caney Head Road, Silsbee. His funeral service will be 4:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 23, 2024, at Caney Head Assembly of God, Silsbee. His interment will follow at Tanton Cemetery, Silsbee, under the direction of Broussard’s, 490 Cemetery Road, Silsbee.

Glenda, Jessie, and family, I am so sorry for your loss! I remember as a kid, Jimmy and his family would go fishing with our family on occasion and it was always so much fun. He will be greatly missed. I pray for strength and comfort that only God can give! Love you.
