Jimmy was a devoted husband of 45 years, a loving father, and a cherished grandfather. He cared deeply about his family and community, always guided by a strong moral compass that led him to fight for what was right.
After serving in the United States Army actively from 1959 to 1962, Jimmy performed various odd jobs throughout the Golden Triangle area, as well as becoming a lifelong member of the Port Neches Masonic Lodge, and then pursued a career in law enforcement in 1969. He graduated from Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas, in 1975, with a degree in Criminal Justice. Jimmy dedicated forty-six years of his life to serving as a law enforcement officer, starting in Port Neches, then moving on to Kountze, and finally joining the Lamar University Police Department. After retiring from his position at Lamar University he served as a Sheriff’s Deputy at the Jefferson County Courthouse for ten years. Throughout his career, Jimmy was highly respected by his colleagues.
Jimmy attended Big Thicket Baptist Church, where he found comfort in God, fellowship, and a loving congregation. The family would like to express their gratitude to their church family for their love and prayers during this difficult time.
In his free time, Jimmy enjoyed fishing, camping, and working with computers. He had a passion for tending to his yard and tinkering with various things. His hobbies brought him joy and relaxation.

Sorry about your Dad
Just read of Jimmy’s passing. So very sorry that we didn’t know sooner. Jimmy was one of the officers that escorted us from the Housing Office to the Finance Office daily with our deposits. The PD was our back yard neighbors so we could get them in a moments notice. Jimmy was a great officer!
Our prayers are with you.
Just hearing of Jimmy’s passing.
Unlike some of us, Jimmy was always cool, calm, and collected 😏
A heck of a nice guy who dedicated his life to the protection of the innocent and giving the bad guys the “business”.
He will be sorely missed by the “old school law enforcement community”.
We worked with Jimmy at Port Neches Police Department. He was a mentor to so many in the department and his calm demeanor kept everyone at ease. We know he can see all the mountains and forests from his well-deserved place in Heaven. Our sympathy to the family.

I am saddened upon learning of Jimmy’s death. He was an humble and quiet man, but someone you could always count on. I know Frank thought a lot of Jimmy and now they will have plenty of time to catch up.

It’s with deep sorrow to hear of the passing of Jimmy. He was a very humble and kind man. Jimmy and I worked together at Education First Federal Federal Credit Union where he provided security for many years. He could always be counted on to handle any situation that arose. He will be greatly missed. My prayers are with Marsha and the entire family.
From all of us, Thank You..
