Jimmy Ray McDonald

January 22, 1942 - February 3, 2024

Jimmy Ray McDonald, 82, of Warren, died on Saturday, February 3, 2024. He was born on January 22, 1942, in Honey Island, to Doris Strawther McDonald and Frank Hugh McDonald.

Jimmy proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He loved his country and took great pride in serving. Following his service in the Navy, he worked in the oilfield in several capacities. His work in the industry enabled him to travel and live in many exotic locations throughout the world. He loved his time in the oilfield and took great pride in his work. Following retirement, he lived on Toledo Bend Lake, enabling him to pursue his passion of fishing and hunting. Just as with his time in the Navy and his work in the oilfield, he excelled at both endeavors, if you listened to him, he was the best fisherman on the lake and the best shot in the hunting club! He loved his time at the lake and took great pride in his skills in the boat with a rod and reel in his hand.

His greatest love and greatest source of pride were his children and later his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. If you were a part of his family, you knew that he loved you, there was never a question of where he stood. He will be missed immensely by all but the memories that he made with family and friends will endure a lifetime.

Survivors include his children, Scott McDonald and his wife, Beth, of Washington; Bobby Reasoner and his wife, Nicole, of Baytown; Chance McDonald and his wife, Lucy, of New Caney; Lance McDonald and his wife, Piper, of Warren; Booger Daigle and his wife, Crystal, of Fred; and Hollie Martin and her husband, Randy, of Crystal Beach; sixteen grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.  He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Brenda McDonald; brother, Billy Wade McDonald; granddaughter, Jennifer Hammonds; and grandson, Jackson Simon.
