Jitendra “Jay” B. Doshi
Jitendra “Jay” Doshi passed away peacefully at home on February 20, 2023, surrounded by family.
He was born in Bombay, India to Bhagwandas and Jayagauri Doshi. He was the first in his family to complete his undergraduate studies by earning a BS in Chemistry from the University of Mumbai in 1970.
Seeking a better life for his parents and extended family, he decided to travel abroad for his graduate education. He completed his Masters in Chemistry at the University of Vermont at Burlington in 1973. From 1973 to 1978, he worked as a chemist and earned a MBA.
He met the love of his life, Sharda Patel, in Newark, NJ in 1973, and they were married shortly after in 1974. They moved to Southeast Texas and planted roots here in 1981.
Upon his passing, Jay is survived by his wife, Dr. Sharda Doshi; his older son, Dr. Snehal Doshi (wife Rinal Doshi), his younger son, Dr. Taral Doshi (wife Dr. Victoria Lee) and 3 grandchildren: Anish (18), Anjali (17), and Sage (9 months). They will remember their grandfather for his affable personality, perseverance, and dedication to his family.
Mr. Doshi’s funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m., Sunday, February 26, 2023, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. His cremation arrangements will be handled through Broussard’s Crematorium, Beaumont.

Our deepest sympathy to Shardaben and Doshi family. We knew Jitu for over 50 years – from college in Bombay to Vermont. He was like a brother to us. His care for others was unmatched. He was a wonderful person with a big heart. Truly one in a million. We will miss him but continue to keep him in our heart. God bless him and his family. 🙏🏼
