Joe Edward Ashcraft

Joe Edward Ashcraft, 76, of Silsbee, died Tuesday, April 25, 2017.  He was born on August 20, 1940, in Silsbee, to Nallie Vee Tanton Ashcraft and Hester Dulie Ashcraft.  Joe proudly served his country in the United States Navy and later worked as a heavy equipment operator and was a member of Local #450.

Survivors include his daughters, Lanelle Rist and her husband, Rodney; and Tammy Cravy, all of Silsbee; son, Jared Ashcraft and his wife, Delores, of Milam; grandchildren, Mandy Gore of Silsbee; Dusty Gore and his wife, Kim, of Nederland; Aaron Cravy and Dalton Cravy, both of Silsbee; and Kassie Martinez and her husband, Orlando, of La Joya, Kelly and Scott Young and Michael Fostor and Jany Rist Heilman and her husband Cody; fifteen great-grandchildren; brother, Harvey Ashcraft and his wife, Kathy, of Silsbee; and mother of his children, June Hanks of Silsbee.  He is preceded in death by his parents.

A gathering of Mr. Ashcraft’s family and friends will be 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Thursday, April 27, 2017, at First Pentecostal Church, 1403 North 5th Street, Silsbee, under the directions of Broussard’s, Silsbee.  His funeral service will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, April 28, 2017, at the church, with his interment to follow at Morse Cemetery, Buna.
