John B. Lord, Jr.

June 4, 1941 - October 18, 2017

John B. Lord, Jr., 76, of Beaumont, died Wednesday, October 18, 2017, at Christus Hospital-St. Elizabeth, Beaumont. He was born on June 4, 1941, in Hemphill, to Edna Youngblood Lord and John Burton Lord, Sr., and had been a longtime resident of Beaumont. John was employed at Jefferson County Precinct 1 for five years and later retired with Goodyear after thirty-four years of employment.

He is survived by his wife, Judy Lord; and son, Mike Lord and his wife, Tuesday, all of Beaumont; brother, Joe Lord, of Hemphill; and many nieces and nephews.

John is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Edward Lee Lord and Dalon Lord; and sisters, Virgie Jones and Fay Cunningham.

A gathering of Mr. Lord’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Friday, October 20, 2017, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. His funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, October 21, 2017, at Rosedale Baptist Church, 7110 Concord Road, Beaumont, with his interment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Beaumont.
