My deepest condolences to you all. Mr. McMillian was truly one of a kind. I had the pleasure of being one of his students and then working alongside Mr. McMillian when he was an Assistant Principal at LHS, in my early years of teaching. Most recently, I’ve had the pleasure of seeing him in the mornings as he observed new teachers on our campus.

Sending you all my heartfelt prayers for strength and peace during this time.

John was a very pleasant and awesome person. He was over my observations in the Texas teachers program and always gave me great advice that helped me become a better teacher. That was several years ago. This year I was a mentor for another teacher and always enjoyed our conversations when I seen him at the school. I’m not his family but I show feel like I lost a family member. Rest in Peace JM.

I am so sorry to hear of John’s passing. He was the first to hire me in Lumberton. He was so understanding when my husband’s health started to deteriorate. I always appreciated and respected him for that. He had a great sense of humor, and with it, gave each other a “hard time.” May he rest in peace in the arms of Jesus.
