Johnnie Lee Arline, Jr.
Johnnie Lee Arline, Jr., 62, of Beaumont, died Thursday, April 4, 2024. He was born December 3, 1961, to Oran Gilford Arline and Johnny Lee Arline, Sr.
Johnnie attended French High School. He was a member of the Class of 1980. After graduation, he attended Phlebotomy School and became a certified phlebotomist. He worked at Smithkline Clinical Lab for several years. He decided to further his education and he attended Lamar University. He received his Bachelor’s in Art and Science degree with a certification in special education. He taught at Edison Middle School in Port Arthur ISD, South Park Middle School, and West Brook High School in Beaumont ISD. After teaching for several years, Johnnie changed his career path once more. He worked for Texas Department of Human Services as an eligibility specialist until he retired.
Johnnie lived a Christian life. He grew up in Scott Olive Missionary Baptist Church. In 1997 we obeyed the gospel and became members of Dowlen Road Church of Christ and then Memorial Church of Christ where he served the Lord faithfully and lived a Christian life.
Johnnie was a lifetime member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity. He loved his fraternity and his frat brothers. He also was involved in helping friends who ran for office in various campaigns in the area. Johnnie was very proud of his son, Carsen. He coached Little League Baseball when Carsen played. He was one of Carsen’s biggest fans in all of his sports, from elementary school through Carsen’s college football career at Concordia University in Nebraska.
Johnnie was a devoted husband. He married his wife, Pearline, on June 9, 1990, and they began their life together. The joy of their life is their son, Carsen. Johnnie loved watching Carsen play sports. It was a joy to him because he himself was not able to play.
One memorable moment of their life was when Johnnie and Pearline attended college at Lamar University and were blessed to graduate from Lamar on the same day. That was a celebration to remember. Johnnie and Pearline lived a Christian life together. They raised their son in a Christian environment. They both loved sports, music, and spending time together. Johnnie was an excellent father, making sure Carsen put God first before sports.
Survivors include his wife, Pearline Arline; son, Carsen Rhazyene Oran Arline; sisters, Armiller Stewart and Dorisell Thierry and husband, Elliot; brother, Randolph Arline; and numerous extended family, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Oran Gilford Arline and Johnny Lee Arline, Sr.
A gathering of Mr. Arline’s family and friends will begin at 9:00 a.m., with his funeral service at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 13, 2024, at Memorial Church of Christ, 2525 Aero Drive, Port Arthur, under the direction of Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. His interment will follow at Memory Gardens of Jefferson County, Nederland.
Carson and I would like to extend a special thank you to his nurses, LaTasha Simien, Fara Rollins, Kamesha Jones, and Sonda Broussard for the love and care they showed Johnnie and his family. Another special thanks to Houston Methodist C-ICU staff for their support and comfort throughout Johnnie’s last days.
We extend a very special thank you to all our friends, they are greatly appreciated. They were always there for us throughout Johnnie’s illness and mine as well. They treated us like family, and they were family to us. We never had to call them, they were always there coming by the house and taking care of him. I love you all dearly and know you will miss him as much as I will. Even though he had a disability, you loved him the way he was.
Thank you all from the bottom of my heart.
