Johnny Hood

December 28, 1956 - March 15, 2024

Johnny Hood, 67, of Beaumont, died Friday, March 15, 2024, at Harbor Hospice, Beaumont. She was born on December 28, 1956, to Marcelle Longmire Nelson and Ralph “Buck” Nelson, in Beaumont. Johnny loved her dogs and cats, NASCAR racing, especially #24 Jeff Gordon, and was always eager to get back to her rocking chair and front porch.

Survivors include her husband, Brad Hood; siblings, James Nelson and his wife, Beverly; Frank Nelson and his wife, Becky; and Glen Nelson; nieces and nephews, Chase Nelson, Clifton Nelson, Cody Nelson, Krista Langston, Kelly Nelson, and Jessica Wilson; and numerous friends, colleagues, and loved ones through the years.

She is preceded in death by her parents and brother, Sam Nelson.

A gathering of Mrs. Hood’s family and friends will be from 4:00 p.m.  until 6:00 p.m., Saturday, March 23, 2024, at Meadows Church of Christ, 9195 Dishman, Beaumont.

Her cremation arrangements were handled through Broussard’s Crematorium under the direction of Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont.

    Johnny we had some good memories over the years. I always enjoyed our visits. It was so sad when your diagnosed with cancer. You were a fighter and I love you for that. I will see you in the future in the promised land my friend. My condolences to Brad and the family.

    I worked with Johnny for years during my time at Petrocon/ENGlobal and I was sorry to hear of her passing. She was a work horse and very knowledgeable at her job. I remember how much she like Jeff Gordon. My prayers are with the family.
