Juan Antonio Sanchez “PELON”

Juan Antonio Sanchez “PELON”, 71, of Beaumont, died Monday, February 26, 2024. He was born on April 23, 1952, in Galveston, to Maria L. Guerrero Sanchez and Lorenzo P. Sanchez, Sr.

A Vietnam Era Veteran, PELON enjoyed his time in Germany where he served as a diesel mechanic and claimed to have invented the meat lover’s pizza. He was Honorably Discharged as a Specialist IV from the United States Army in 1979.

PELON returned to Beaumont where he worked as a mechanic for the City of Beaumont. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing, crabbing, and was a diehard Dallas Cowboys fan.

Beloved brother, uncle, friend, and father to numerous fur babies, PELON will be truly missed.

Survivors include his sisters, Virginia Escamilla, Maria Louisa Rodriguez, Maria Del Socorro Sanchez, Alicia Alfaro, Dolores Sanchez, and Martha Ayala; brothers, Ricardo Sanchez, Sr., Enrique Sanchez, Sr., Hector A. Sanchez, Sr., Francisco G. Sanchez, and Jesus A. Sanchez; godson, Xavier Sanchez, Sr., and several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Baby Joey Sanchez, Emilio Sanchez, Sr., Marciano A. Guerrero, Sr., and Lorenzo Sanchez, Jr.; and sisters, Baby Dora Sanchez, Dora Sanchez and Cecilia Torres.

A gathering of PELON’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., with a time of sharing at 6:00 p.m., Thursday, February 29, 2024, at Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin Avenue, Beaumont.  Everyone is asked to gather at 9:00 a.m., Friday, March 1, 2024, at Broussard’s, to go in procession for a graveside service at Magnolia Cemetery, Beaumont.
