Karen Ann Thompson

June 6, 1950 - January 7, 2024

Karen Ann Thompson, 73, of Winnie, died Sunday, January 7, 2024. She was born on June 6, 1950, in Galena Park, to Carl and Gladys Bottoms.

Karen loved spending time with her family. She also enjoyed slot machines at Delta Downs. She loved playing games and finishing puzzles and in her younger years she enjoyed crocheting baby blankets for loved ones.

Survivors include her loving husband, Danny Thompson of Winnie; son, Darin Thompson and his wife, Mary Ann, of Beaumont; daughter, Karla Flournoy and her husband, Dan, of Longview; grandchildren, Christopher Flournoy, and his wife, Leslie, Justin Thompson, and his wife, Tara, Carter Flournoy, and his wife Kelley Grace, and Caeden Flournoy; great-granddaughter, Emerson Grace Flournoy; sister, Glenda Rogers and Norma Jean Lambert, and her husband, Hal; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Gladys, sister, Claudia and brother Carlton.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, American, P.O. Box 6704, Hagerstown, Maryland 21741, or to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105

A gathering of Mrs. Thompson’s family and friends will begin at 10:00a.m., with her celebration of life to follow at 11:00a.m., Saturday, January 13, 2024, at First Baptist Church, 120 West Pear Avenue, Winnie. Her committal will be held at Broussard’s Crematorium, Beaumont, under the direction of Broussard’s, Winnie.

Floral or plant arrangements may be delivered to the First Baptist Church, Winnie.
