Kimberly Ann Hynes

March 10, 1964 - February 7, 2024

Kimberly Ann Hynes, 59, of Beaumont, died Wednesday, February 7, 2024, at Harbor Hospice, Beaumont. She was born on March 10, 1964, in Galveston, Texas, to Rosalind Alarid and Thomas Charles Showers.

Kim was a fun-loving person who never met a stranger. She was known by many as an extremely loyal friend who was always there when they needed her. Kim loved being outside. She loved swimming, fishing, being at the beach and being around friends. She loved her yard and gardening. Kim adored her beloved puppy dogs, Chloe and Abigail, who brought her joy and love.

Kim’s faith in God never wavered throughout her life.  It grew even stronger through her suffering.  She prayed every day at 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. when loved ones throughout the area were gathered in prayer for her. Kim and her husband, David, prayed together daily. She could be seen making the Sign of the Cross at various times of the day. Kim’s trust and faith in God are an inspiration for all.

Kim is survived by the loves of her life; beloved husband, David; son, John Michael Thomas, and his daughters, Kailey and Carissa, the granddaughters whom Kim adored. She is also survived by stepson, Cody Landry and wife, Amy, and their children, Emma, London, and Peyton; mother, Rosalind Sanchez and husband, Angelo; sisters, Terri Swanner, and her children, Elizabeth and Douglas; Dina Williams and her children, Jason Williams, Christopher Nunez and Megan Nunez; and Rhonda Kay Smart and husband, Gene, and their daughters, Genna and Leah; brother, Thomas Christopher Showers and his wife, Amy, and their daughters, Amber Henderson and Reece Showers; Aunt Susan Johnson; uncles, Richard Alarid and wife, Ann, and Vince Alarid and wife, JoAnn; and numerous cousins.

Kim is preceded in death by her father, Thomas Charles Showers; infant brother, Charles Vincent Showers; grandparents, Victoria and Wallace C. Showers and Francis and Vincent Alarid; aunts, Patricia Matson, Carol Ann Showers, and Elizabeth “Betsy” Bailey.

A gathering of Mrs. Hynes’ family and friends will begin at 4:00 p.m., with a Christian Vigil at 6:00 p.m., Monday, February 12, 2024, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. Her graveside service will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, February 13, 2024, at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, 4955 Pine Street, Beaumont.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105.
