Louis “Buddy” Palumbo

Louis “Buddy” Peter Palumbo, 87, of Nederland, passed away Monday, October 11, 2021. He was born on February 2, 1934, in Port Arthur, to Mamie Dolce Palumbo and Leonardo Palumbo.

Buddy graduated from Bishop Bryne High School in 1952. He received a bachelor’s degree in Business/ Marketing from Lamar University and worked for Tarrant Distributors for over 30 years. He enjoyed fishing, cooking, gin and tonics, and spending time with his family and friends.

Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Judith M. Palumbo of Nederland; daughter, Donna Valenti and her husband, John of Tampa, Florida; son, Louis Palumbo, Jr. and his wife, Rita of Copperas Cove; sister, Lillie Palumbo; grandchildren, Lauren Valenti, Ryan Palumbo, Vincent Palumbo, and Anna Gabriella Palumbo; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Joe Palumbo, Julius Palumbo, and Sam Lena; sister, Virginia Slover; and grandson, Johnny Valenti.

The family wishes to extend a special thanks to Jimmy Majors and his wife, Vivian, Bobby Majors, Dr. Michael McMahon, Dr. Pradip Morbia, and Amedisys Hospice.

A gathering of Mr. Palumbo’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Thursday, October 14, 2021, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12^th Street, Nederland. His graveside service will be 1:00 p.m., Friday, October 15, 2021, at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 3900 Twin City Highway, Groves.
