Gary will be missed. The last time Patti and I saw him was at an awards ceremony at Lamar in or about 2001. He was cheerful as always. Will keep the family in our prayers.
I first went to school with Gary at Edwards Elementary in Miss Durdin’s 3rd grade class. I do remember him playing the trombone in our 6th grade band.
I am so saddened to learn of his passing. All my thoughts and prayers to his friends & family.
So very sorry to hear of the passing of my Classmate Gary, I always enjoyed being around him at French High School. He was a Great Guy. I wish we would have stayed in touch. Gone to soon. Blessing to all the Family…

Gary and I were friends for many, many years. He played a big part in some the better decisions I made in my life and becoming my best friend, a mentor, and my brother. We shared many tribulations and many adventures that will never be forgotten and always cherished. I will miss him, but I won’t say goodbye, for I know we will meet again and share many more adventures .
Gary was such a kind hearted and compassionate man. He was always willing to help people and could fix and/or repair anything. Glad to have called Gary a friend. He will be missed by many people including myself. May he rest in peace. God’s peace and blessings to all the family and to all of his friends.
Always liked my nephew Gary. He was a kind-hearted soul.
Gary was a wonderful and compassionate man- he knew so many things and gave the best recommendations and suggestions about many topics! Gary knew so much about fixing anything and if he did not know he would make it a point to get the answer and fix it!! Gary will be missed by so many people he has helped over the years! He is now in God’s hands and at peace into the next life
Liz and family,
Austin messaged me today and told me that Gary passed away. I am sorry for your loss. I remember visiting ya’ll when I lived in Beaumont. I remember his kindness, and that he helped us find our vehicle when it was missing. He also sold us a van when we needed one.
I and my family will praying for you. May the Lord comfort you all.
Gary was a wonderful man who helped my sister, Cindy Barnes, with her car, her house repairs, and put up her extensive Christmas lights and decorations for many years. He truly knew a lot about many things, and he had a heart of gold. He loved helping Cindy and others . He made a lasting impression on so many people! His memory will be loved and cherished for ever! God Bless you Gary!!

Gary was a very dear friend of mine for 30 years. He was the smartest man I ever knew, even though he didn’t have a four year degree. He knew how to fix anything, from mechanical, to electrical, to computer hardware & software, to basic things around the house. He helped me so much over the years; I would never be able to re-pay him. He always gave me great advice about a number of different things. I miss him so much because he meant so much to me. I truly loved him; he was in a class by himself & such a great man. Rest in peace, my dear friend.
Love always,
Cindy
