Magdalini “Maggie” Davros

March 17, 1943 - April 9, 2022

Magdalini “Maggie” Davros, 79, of Beaumont, passed away peacefully Saturday, April 9, 2022.

Maggie was born on March 17, 1943, to Efstathia Kostadopoulos Kapsimalis and Demetrios Kapsimalis in Vouno, Greece. She left Greece in 1963 and traveled to Toronto, Canada with a group of her closest girlfriends. Maggie then traveled to Beaumont where she met her beloved husband, Kostas “Gus” Davros. Together they worked side-by-side for over 40 years at J&J Steakhouse and Motel while raising three children. Maggie loved to sew and cook traditional Greek food for her family and friends. She also loved a good time and every opportunity to Greek dance.

Survivors include her children, Tina Davros Jones and her husband, Daniel, of Central Point, Oregon; Harry Davros and Tiffany Davros of Dallas, Texas; and Connie Davros Hebert and her husband, Brian of Beaumont, Texas; eight beautiful granddaughters, Alexandria Kelly O’Donnell and her husband, Devin; Gabrielle Kelly Gonzalez and her husband, Josue; Victoria Kelly, Arden Davros, Ava Davros, Audrey Davros, Lily Hebert and Demi Hebert; two great grandsons expected this summer; brothers, George Kapsimalis and his wife, Kostoula, of Greece; Kostas Kapsimalis and his wife, Gloria, of Hoffman Estates, Illinois; and sister, Marigoula Drevou of Greece.

Maggie is preceded in death by her parents, husband of over forty-two years, Gus Davros, and sister, Letsa Gavrelos.

The family would like to thank Maggie’s nurses, nurse assistants and all of those who loved and cared for her during her time at Summer Place and with Altus Hospice.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contriubtions may be made to the American Diabetes Association at diabetes.org or P.O. Box 7023, Merrifield, Virginia, 22116-7023.

A gathering of Mrs. Davros’s family and friends will begin at 12:00 noon with her funeral service to begin at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, April 16, 2022, at St. Michael Antiochian Orthodox Christian Church, 680 North 15th Street, Beaumont. Her interment amd Trisagion will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Beaumont, under the direction of Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin Avenue. Serving as pallbearers will be: Stavros A. Megas, Chris A. Megas, John Gavrelos, Will Gavrelos, Greg Gregory, Octavio Cisneros, and Mark Jefferson.

    I remember Mrs. Davros from the J & J Steakhouse when I was a child. She was always smiling and had a sweet laugh from when she would be visiting my customers like my parents and grandparents. She would be the Cashier in their little booth by the entrance/exit on most Sundays when we stopped in to eat after church. Such good memories of her and the other workers and owners. Prayers for her family. RIP Mrs. Davros!
