Margaret Elizabeth Mangum

Margaret Elizabeth Mangum, 81, of Kountze, died on Friday, June 9, 2023.  She was born on August 8, 1941, in Kountze, to Thelma Carroll Ripka and Walter Earl Ripka, Sr.

Survivors include her daughter, Pamela Burks and her husband, Jerry, of Magnolia Springs; son, Edward Lee and his wife, Angela, of Kountze; sister, Mary Swearingen of Kountze; brother, Walter Earl Ripka, Jr. of Beaumont; sister-in-law, Sue Ripka of Kountze; grandchildren, Misty Anderson and her husband, Justin, of Beaumont; Cody Lee of Kountze; and Jeremy Burks of Magnolia Springs; great-grandchild, Lynlee Anderson; two stepdaughters; and numerous step grandchildren.  She is preceded in death by her first husband, Lynn Lee; second husband, Wiley Mangum; brother, Charles Carroll Ripka; and sister, Earline Read.

A gathering of Mrs. Mangum’s family and friends will begin at 1:00 p.m., with her funeral service at 2:00 p.m., Monday, June 12, 2023, at Broussard’s, 530 West Monroe, Kountze.  Her interment will follow at Hooks Cemetery, Kountze.
