Brad and Vickie were Mark's half-brother and half-sister. They were also my half-brother and half-sister. But they acknowledged Mark as their brother and the treated me and my (also their) late father as if we didn't exist. They always carried their stepfather's (Joseph Elwin) last name but he never adopted them to make it legal because their mother (Jolene) didn't want to stop receiving child support payments for them from my late father.

My sincere condolences to the family at this difficult time. May you all seek God for comfort, peace, strength and support (2 Cor 1:3).
