Mary Bridgers Delacerda
Mary Ellen Bridgers Delacerda, 66, of Silsbee, passed away Saturday, February 17, 2024. She was born on March 19, 1957, in Beaumont, to Jean Rost Bridgers and Bob Bridgers, Jr.
Mary was a longtime resident of Silsbee where she worked as a loan officer at Silsbee State Bank. Mary enjoyed her early years watching her children grow and supporting them in all their various sports activities and was always their biggest fan. Later, Mary enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and taking various trips with her family. Since retirement, Mary has spent the last fifteen years traveling the country and taking countless adventures with her best friend and husband, David. Mary lived a full life and leaves behind countless friends and loved ones.
Survivors include her husband of forty-eight years, David Delacerda; children, John Delacerda and Christy, of Beaumont; Sara Delacerda Herrington and her husband, Jason, of Buna; and Scott Delacerda and his wife, Blair, of Silsbee; grandsons, Alex Freeman, Dylan Herrington, Corbin Delacerda, and Jackson Herrington; siblings, Robert Bridgers and his wife, Cathy, of Beaufort, South Carolina; Barbara Brookner and her husband, Steven, of Beaumont; Cecile Franklin and her husband, Randell, of Cypress; Ruthie Bridgers of Glendale, Colorado; and James Bridgers and his wife, Jeanne, of Boston Massachusetts; numerous nieces and nephews; and a stuffed dog named Floyd. She is preceded in death by her parents and niece, Audie Nicole McDonald.
A gathering of Mary’s family and friends will begin at 4:00 p.m., with her memorial service at 6:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 21, 2024, at Broussard’s, 490 Cemetery Road, Silsbee. Her committal will be held at Broussard’s Crematorium, Beaumont.
Her remains will be interred at the Houston National Cemetery in Houston, Texas.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent in her name to Shiners Children’s Texas Hospital, Office of Philanthropy, Suite 523, 815 Market Street, Galveston, Texas 77550 or St. Jude Children’s, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105.

Precious Mary. She was light wherever she went. Those gorgeous blue eyes and her beautiful smile were matched only by her kind heart. She will be so very missed and never forgotten.
It was always a joy and pleasure to see Mary walk in the office my dear friend.Rest Well Mary I will miss our talks about the grandkids and that beautiful smile.David you and the family are in my prayers.
Anyone who knew Mary knows what a treasure she was – this is truly a crushing loss. Mary and I are cousins, and I have many, many wonderful childhood memories of Mary and her family. As adults, we added new memories whenever we were able to get together. It was always so much fun just to spend time with her. Mary’s life was far too short, but was truly a life well-lived. Her love and all those wonderful memories will bring comfort. Our love to David and all the Delacerda and Bridgers families.
So sorry to hear about Mary. A few weeks ago she stopped in to see me at work and we enjoyed catching up on our kids. I’m so blessed to have shared a few laughs and got some well needed hugs from my sweet friend. My prayers are with you David , John, Sara, and Scott. She will surely be missed.
This is a hard one. She was the most sweet and kind person that you would ever want to meet. I had the honor and the privilege to work with her for many many years back at Silsbee State Bank. Such a great loss. Praying comfort and strength for the family.

We are devastated to hear about the loss of Mary. There are no words to express except the deeper the love the deeper the grief…this one is going to be a difficult one to face…there was no one sweeter Jesus could’ve called home but Mary…I still have my little ‘retirement’ pillow I prop my head up on at night…HOME IS WHERE YOU HOOK UP…I can only imagine Heaven is a pretty good hook up…save a spot for me.
We knew Mary through Silsbee State Bank and automatically fell in love with her bubbly personality– such a wonderful person to know.

She was my inspiration for becoming full time RVers and we loved every minute. I never saw Mary without a smile on her face. She was a beautiful lady and will be missed.
