Mary Ellen Green

Mary Ellen Green, 65, of Groves died Saturday, March 9, 2024. She was born on April 9, 1958, in Cuero, to Delores Kasting Tomlinson and Samuel L. Tomlinson, Sr.

Survivors include her husband, Jeff Green; children, David Green and his wife, Jamie, of Round Rock; Jenny Green and her husband, Aaron, of China; and John Green and his wife, Nilmini, of Oahu, Hawaii; grandchildren, Connor Green; Kaylee Green; Logan Green; Luna Godeaux; and Sakura Green; siblings, Amanda Lara and her husband, Gilbert; and Samuel Tomlinson, Jr., and his wife, Ann; and many adoptive children, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Mary is preceded in death by her parents, and sister, Denise Kutzer.

Memorial contributions may be made to Southeast Texas Hospice, 912 West Cherry, Orange, Texas 77630.

A gathering of Mrs. Green’s family and friends will begin 3:00 p.m. with her funeral service at 4:00 p.m., Thursday, March 21, 2024, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. Her cremation arrangements were handled through Broussard’s Crematorium, Beaumont.

    In addition to my earlier comment, mention should surely be made of the countless families that were blessed by Mary’s tenure as Resident Manager of Shepherd’s Inn over a ten year period. She Captained the ship through Katrina and other hurricanes as well as weekly and monthly family visits. God Bless.
