Nick Lopez, Sr.

Nick R. Lopez, Sr., 79, of Port Arthur, died Monday, February 5, 2018. He was born on September 7, 1938, in Port Arthur, to Basilia C. De La Cruz Lopez and Francisco Lopez, Sr.

Survivors include his wife, Henrietta “Mutzi” Lopez of Port Arthur; sons, Nick “Nicky” Lopez, Jr. and his wife, Karen of Houston and Bryan Lopez and his Fiancée, Damarilis Vazquez, of Beaumont; grandchildren, Mercedes, Nathan, Brianna, Andrew, Eric, and Lucas; two great-grandchildren, Marcus and Marquez.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, Susanna Vara, Juanita Saldana, and Francisco Lopez, Jr.

A gathering of Mr. Lopez’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., with a Rosary recited at 6:00 p.m., Friday, February 9, 2018, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:00 a.m., Saturday, February 10, 2018, at St. James Catholic Church, 3617 Gulfway Drive, Port Arthur, with his interment following at Greenlawn Memorial Park, Groves.
