Pedro Antonio “Anthony” Martinez

October 20, 1991 - July 16, 2023

Pedro Antonio “Anthony” Martinez, 31, of Nederland, died Sunday, July 16, 2023, at Dubuis Hospital, Beaumont. He was born on October 20, 1991, to Maria Guadalupe Rodriguez and Pedro Martinez, in Beaumont.

Pedro attended Silsbee High School, during this time he taught himself how to play guitar. He played in a “nameless” band, but he also was in a band called Lamantra where he played the bass guitar. Pedro’s love for music knew no boundaries from metal to rap or country to Spanish music. After high school he worked in multiple levels of construction and worked as a pile driver. He was currently attending Lamar College in pursuit of obtaining a process operator degree and he was a member of the honors society. Pedro was always the life of the party. If he was attendance you were guaranteed to be entertained and have a great time. No matter how busy he was, he always made time for his family. Pedro made it a point to always check in on his mama. Without fail he was always there for his children and showed up for them, they are the true light of his life.

Survivors include his wife, Kayla Martinez; children, Darryl Vincent Martinez and Valerie Marie Martinez; parents, Pedro and Maria Martinez; siblings, Charles David Lockhart, Amanda Snow, and Frances Snow; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Sheree Bennett.

A Memorial Mass for Mr. Martinez will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, July 29, 2023, at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 5075 Bigner Road, Beaumont. An additional memorial service will follow at 11:30 a.m., Saturday, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. After services, a Celebration of Life will be at Knights of Columbus Hall, 9505 College Street, Beaumont. His cremation arrangements were handled through Broussard’s Crematorium.

Amanda & Frances were my dear sweet friends growing up across the street from each other. I have fond memories of Anthony running up and down the ramp with all his power ranger toys and just being the happiest little kid. Rest in Paradise Anthony.
