Richard Edward Strong
Richard Edward Strong, 82, of Silsbee, died Saturday, March 9, 2024. He was born on January 5, 1942, in Bristow, Oklahoma, to Faye Snyder Strong and Thomas Edward Strong.
Mr. Strong was a long-time educator of Silsbee Independent School District. He coached football and basketball. He and his wife also owned and operated Strong’s Driving School for 10 years.
Survivors include, his wife, Pat Strong; children, Jana Worley and her husband, Glen, of Silsbee; and John Richard Strong of Beaumont; grandchildren, Ladson Worley and Savanna Rodrigues of Silsbee; and Georgia Angel Worley of Silsbee; siblings, Robert Strong of Arizona; and Betty Lindsey of Bristow, Oklahoma; numerous cousins and many friends of Silsbee.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
A memorial gathering of Mr. Strong’s family and friends will be 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m., Saturday, March 23, 2024, at Broussard’s, 490 Cemetery Road, Silsbee. His committal was held at Broussard’s Crematorium.

Jana I am so sorry about your Dad! He was a great teacher and friend! I will miss him and his warm smile! He will never be forgotten!! You and your family will be in my thoughts and prayers!
Coach Strong was always a great man/Coach to so many people and Silsbee ISD students. Will miss seeing him around town. Prayers for his wife, Pat, and his family.
Pat we hate to hear of your loss. You and Richard have always been so kind to our family and especially to Ami. We have lots of good times to remember. And we love that Richard is in his forever home with Jesus. We are praying you through this time.

Prayers to family and friends coach Strong was a great educator and friend
Coach was my driver’s ed teacher, 50 plus years ago. He and his Yorkie were one of my clients. I always enjoyed talking to him and Pat. You will be missed. Prayers for Pat and your family.
Coach Strong was always such a sweet person. He was my Drivers Education teacher also. Jyst a great man I’m sure others feel the same. Rest Easy Coach Strong.
You are in our thoughts and prayers during this time and in the days to come. Coach and Mrs. Strong have touched our lives through the years. From Drivers Ed to Coaching, teaching and tutoring; you both gave with your hearts to students through many years. God bless your family.
