Richard Edward Strong

January 5, 1942 - March 9, 2024

Richard Edward Strong, 82, of Silsbee, died Saturday, March 9, 2024. He was born on January 5, 1942, in Bristow, Oklahoma, to Faye Snyder Strong and Thomas Edward Strong.

Mr. Strong was a long-time educator of Silsbee Independent School District. He coached football and basketball. He and his wife also owned and operated Strong’s Driving School for 10 years.

Survivors include, his wife, Pat Strong; children, Jana Worley and her husband, Glen, of Silsbee; and John Richard Strong of Beaumont; grandchildren, Ladson Worley and Savanna Rodrigues of Silsbee; and Georgia Angel Worley of Silsbee; siblings, Robert Strong of Arizona; and Betty Lindsey of Bristow, Oklahoma; numerous cousins and many friends of Silsbee.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

A memorial gathering of Mr. Strong’s family and friends will be 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m., Saturday, March 23, 2024, at Broussard’s, 490 Cemetery Road, Silsbee.  His committal was held at Broussard’s Crematorium.
