Robert Edman Vaughan
Robert Edman Vaughan, 88, of Beaumont, died Friday, January 27, 2023. He was born on March 15, 1934, to Mae Louise Burrow Vaughan and Edman Anthony Vaughan, in Beaumont.
He was a 1953 Beaumont High School graduate later graduating in 1966 from Lamar State College with a B.S. in Mathematics. Robert served in the Texas and California Army National Guard: Specialist 3rd class, Motor SGT, Armor Crewman
In a world filled with the fatherless, Robert (Bobby) Vaughan, was the greatest father we ever knew. He was a man of honor and integrity. He lived to die for his wife and children, and he was fiercely protective of his family. He often worked two jobs to provide for his family and their many activities. Bobby was a jack of all trades. Along with his 30 years as a computer analyst for Mobil Oil Corporation where he retired from, he also fished commercially, owned and operated Sabine Tractor Service, installed and repaired CB radios, cut firewood, and welded. When he wasn’t doing these things, he was with his family fishing, building duck blinds and hunting, skiing, frogging, crabbing and teaching them with his many words of wisdom. He and Alice were married for 57 years and were truly inseparable. From commercial snapper fishing, duck hunting, bowling, and fence building, they did everything as a team. Their love for each other became an example for their children.
His hobbies included water skiing, was a Charter member of Beaumont Yacht Club where he loved to boat (and named Marina Drive), a board member of Beaumont Power Squadron, Vice President of China Hunting Club, Avid duck hunter and saltwater fisherman.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Alice Vaughan; children, Robert Vaughan, Jr. and wife, Mary; Kenny Vaughan and wife, Tammie; Bonnie Knight and husband, Jeff; Gabe Vaughan and partner, Ashley Thompson; brothers, Richard Vaughan and Eddie Vaughan; sister, Bertha O’Neill; grandchildren, Jenna Vaughan, Amber Vaughan, Jordan Vaughan and wife, Sarah, Bayley Vaughan, Cameryn Vaughan, Blayke Vaughan, Justin Knight, Kaleb Knight, Katherine Knight, Amellia Knight, Faith Vaughan, Grace Vaughan, Kennedy Vaughan; great-grandchildren, Willow Holland and Greyson Vaughan; also, many nieces and nephews and their families and too many friends to count.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Edman Vaughan, Mae Louise Burrow Scearce, and Ella Marie Vaughan and brothers, Lee Roy Bergeron and Tommy Bergeron.

Prayers for the family and the days to come. He was a great man of God and showed unconditional Love to everyone around him.
Unfortunately, I did not have the privilege of meeting grandpa Vaughan; mostly because of the crazy time with Covid and this world. However, thru my daughter Sarah, and her sweet husband Jordan, grandson of grandpa Vaughan, I feel like I learned who this man was. A man of integrity, a man who loved the Lord, a great husband and father. A man who worked hard and made his family and the Lord his priority. This is evident thru the legacy he left in his children and grandchildren. My heart breaks for his bride Nana, and his family; as he will be missed here on earth. The good news he will be dancing with Jesus in heaven, free from pain. My daughter Sarah and my sweet son-in-law both highly spoke of grandpa Vaughan. And I am grateful for the love he expressed and his wisdom to his family. Allow his legacy to continue to pass to each generation.
Lord, love this family, and hold them near to you, as they grieve thru this time. Reassure them all that we all will reunite with our loved ones someday. Hold them close and give them peace!
Bonnie, I am so sorry for your loss. Your family was blessed to have such a wonderful father. My prayers go out to all of you.
Bobby, I know you have already gained your angel wings in heaven, and I know you will always be in my heart and never forgotten. I will always love you. Rest in your new paradise.
Mr. Vaughan was the best Father-in-law anyone could ever dream of having. He fiercely loved us, protected us, and poured his wisdom into us. I feel incredibly blessed to have had him a part of my life for 30 years. I love you and miss you, Grandpa. We will meet you in Heaven.
