Robert Morris

March 22, 1929 - December 23, 2017

Robert E. “Bob” Morris, 88, of Nederland, passed away on Saturday, December 23, 2017, at his residence. He was born on March 22, 1929, in Haile, Louisiana, and moved to Nederland in 1959.

Bob served in the United States Army and is a Korean War Veteran. He retired after forty-two years as an Electronic Technician with the Federal Aviation Administration(FAA).  Bob touched many lives as a direct result of his love and commitment to the Lord as shown by his devoted service as a Sunday School Teacher and Deacon at First Baptist Church in Nederland. He also loved playing golf and fishing, but more importantly, spending quality time with his family and grandchildren.

Survivors include the love of his life and wife for over sixty-two years, Gloria Morris of Nederland; daughter, Karen Quinton and her husband, John H., of Double Oak; son, David Morris and his wife, Angie, of Nederland; and grandchildren, Faith and Joshua Quinton, both of Double Oak; Kaleb Dixon of Beaumont; and Katie and Kohen Morris, both of Nederland.

He was preceded in death by his infant son, parents, and sister.

A gathering of Mr. Morris’ family and friends will be from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 27, 2017, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. His funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, December 28, 2017, at Broussard’s, with his interment following at Oak Bluff Memorial Park, Port Neches.

Memorial contributions may be made in Mr. Morris’ memory to Veterans of Foreign Wars, 200 Maryland Avenue, N.E., Washington, D.C. 20002 or First Baptist Church, 1911 Nederland Avenue, Nederland, Texas 77627.
