Sandra Davis Youngblood
Sandra Davis Youngblood, 87, of Kyle, died Friday, October 29, 2021. She and her sister, Wanda Louise Allen, were the first generation of her family to attend university. She earned a B.A. and M.A. in elementary education from Lamar University and taught remedial reading for 21 years in Beaumont public schools. She endowed the children that she knew with a deep love of reading. She was a Challenge 2 level square dancer and an avid quilter, proudly continuing this American tradition.
She was born November 21, 1933, in Jennings Louisiana, to Marguerite Brackin Davis and I.C. Davis.
She is survived by her sons, Michael Youngblood and his wife, Annett Franke, of Arlington, Virginia; Mark Youngblood and his wife, Rachel Toomim, of Sarasota, Florida; daughter, Susan Youngblood of Kyle; son, Paul Youngblood; grandchildren, McKenzie, Stephen, Cody, Caroline, Ryan, and Christopher; great-grandchildren, Juniper and Korynn; and step-grandchildren, Grace and Ian.
She is preceded in death by her husband of sixty-two years, Stephen Youngblood.

A gathering of Sandra’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Friday, November 5, 2021, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. Her graveside service will be 1:00 p.m., Saturday, November 6, 2021, at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, 4955 Pine Street, Beaumont.
