Sydney Earl Frazier
Sydney Earl Frazier, 78, of Sugar Land, died Monday, March 6, 2017, at Houston Methodist Hospital-Sugar Land. He was born on September 24, 1938, to Katherine Wilcox Frazier and Robert Edward Frazier, in Cleveland, Ohio. Sydney retired as a ship captain and during his lifetime worked as a lineman, welder, and a substitute teacher. He had degrees from Lamar University and Texas A&M in welding.
Survivors include his wife, Lian Frazier; son, Syd Frazier and his wife, Tammy of LaBelle; daughters, Cheryl Barnwell and her husband, Jason, of Oklahoma and Desiree Frazier of Sugar Land; seven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; brother, Danny Frazier and his wife, Becky, of Lumberton; sister, Peggy Rogers and her husband, Bill, of Cleveland; and step-children, Greg Noland and Jennifer.
He is preceded in death by his parents; and half brother, Robert Edward Frazier.
A gathering of Mr. Frazier’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Friday, March 10, 2017, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. His funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, March 11, 2017, at Broussard’s. A family committal will be held at Broussard’s Crematorium, Beaumont.
