Thomas Droddy
Thomas Lynn Droddy of Lumberton, Texas, passed away on September 16, 2023, at home surrounded by family and friends.
Thomas was born on April 21, 1946, in Elizabeth, Louisiana. He went on to serve in the U.S. Army in Korea, before retiring from Entergy with 40 years of service. He was a graduate of Pitkin High School. Thomas had a passion for coaching youth league baseball teams and was an avid outdoorsman. He was often seen attending his grandkids’ sporting events and enjoyed hunting deer and squirrels. In his own words, he said his greatest accomplishments were, “My kids and grandchildren.” Tommy was a faithful Dallas Cowboy and PNG Indian fan.
Thomas is survived by his son, Shane Droddy; daughter, Latane and Juan Rodriguez; stepson, Mike and Beth Howland; stepson, David and Cindy Howland; grandsons, Richie and Madison Droddy and Dalton Droddy; granddaughters, Jacie Droddy and Kylee Droddy; grandsons, Mason Droddy and Jordan Rodriguez; granddaughter, Jaida Rodriguez; and grandsons, Bret Howland and AJ Howland; great-granddaughter, Emma Droddy; great-grandson, Crockett Howland; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews; and dear friends whom he loved dearly.
Thomas was preceded in death by his wife, Emily Droddy; father, Dave Johnson; biological father, Mitchell Droddy; biological mother, Arnett Ray; mother, Vergie Johnson; brother, Maurice Droddy; sister, Patsy Droddy; brothers, Jr Johnson and Jimmy Johnson; and sister, Billie Ray Perkins.
A gathering of Mr. Droddy’s family and friends will be from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., Saturday, September 23, 2023, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. His cremation arrangements will be handled through Broussard’s Crematorium, Beaumont.

So sorry to read this. We knew Tom from our GSU days and then working storms after we all retired. Had a lot of fun and worked hard. We will remember the good times. Prayers to you all. Bill and Sandy.
I am so sorry to hear of Tom’s passing. I worked with him back in the Gulf States Utilities days in Port Arthur. I really guy, who was very knowledgeable. He will be missed. My condolences to his family.
I worked for Tom in the Port Arthur Meter Department. He and his wife were very nice people. My condolences to the family.
