Tommy C. Jones, Sr.

March 13, 1942 - February 4, 2021

Tommy C. Jones, Sr., 78, of Beaumont, died Thursday, February 4, 2021. He was born on March 13, 1942 in Hawkins, Texas to Glen and Claudene Jones. At the age of 5, he met his future wife Selwyn. They became high school sweethearts and married in 1962. They moved from New London, Texas to Beaumont, Texas on a full scholarship to play basketball at Lamar Tech. After four years of college, Tommy began a twenty-seven year career at White Tire Supply. He then hired on as a diesel mechanic to Heatly Equipment. He retired at the age of 60. From that day on, Tommy was determined to do what he wanted, when he wanted. That consisted of gardening, working in his shop, and repairing EVERYTHING for others.

Together Selwyn and Tommy enjoyed offshore fishing, gambling, traveling, and spending time with family- especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife of fifty-eight years, Selwyn Jones, of Beaumont; son, Tommy C. “T.C.” Jones, Jr., and his wife, Cheryl; daughter, Jannai McClelland and her husband, Mark, all of Beaumont; sister, Glenna Tryon, of Tyler; grandchildren, Garrett Jones and his wife, Bailey; Blake McClelland, and his wife, Danielle; Laken McClelland and her fiancé, Jordan Gonzalez; and Sydney Bean and her husband, Ryan, all of Beaumont; great-grandchildren, Leighton, Mazie and Millie McClelland, Maeven Gonzalez, and Walker Bean (July 2021;) and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.

An outdoor memorial service for Mr. Jones will be at 4:00 p.m., Saturday, February 6, 2021 at Forest Park United Methodist Church, 225 South Major Drive, Beaumont under the direction of Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Broussard’s Crematorium, Beaumont.

Memorial contributions may be made to Forest Park United Methodist Church, 225 South Major Drive, Beaumont 77707, M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, 1515 Holcombe Blvd, Houston, Texas 77030, or Salvation Army, P.O. Box 4857 Jackson, Mississippi 39296.
