Travis "Doonie" Lee Moore, Jr.

May 17, 1962 - July 4, 2020

Travis Lee Moore Jr. known to family and friends as “Doone or Doonie”, passed away on July 4, 2020, at the age of 58 years.

Born and raised in Fred, Texas, Doone attended Warren High School, and then joined the Air Force and was stationed in Germany.  After his honorable discharge from the Airforce, Doone went on to meet the love of his life Valerie “Sue” Moore.  Doonie was a jack of all trades.  But of all his talents in the work field, Logging in Southeast Texas and Car sales in Alaska were his favorite.

Doone attended Seminary school in 1992 in Fortworth, Texas.  Doonie served many years in ministry as a Pastor in both Southeast Texas and Alaska.  Street Ministry was also dear to him.  He had a heart of compassion for all people.  He loved delivering a message of hope that turned hearts to our Savior.  Doone loved Jesus with all his heart.

He is survived by his wife and best friend of thirty-five years Valerie “Sue” Moore, children Robert “Troy” Moore, Jonathan “Luke” Moore, Koti Lanni, Curtis Moore, and Dee Mcrae.  His sixteen grandchildren who he absolutely adored, that called him by his favorite name “Pawpaw”.  He will also be forever remembered by his numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and dear friends.

A Celebration of Doone’s life will be held on Saturday, July 11, at the North Hardin Church, 11574 FM 92, Silsbee, Texas 77656, with Pastor Vance Cawley officiating.  Due to COVID19 and the families desire to honor the local and state mandates-the service will be for immediate family members at 10 am.  Prior to the service starting at 8:30 am there will be a visitation for all to pay respects.  All other family and friends who wish to attend will be able to drive to North Hardin Church and tune into radio station FM 92.7 where it will be broadcasted live.  We hope you will join us while still honoring our current health mandates.

Memorial donations in memory of Travis Lee Moore Jr, in lieu of flowers can be made to Camp Hope for Veterans, www.ptsdusa.org.

I just want to say how sorry I am for your loss! Heaven has gained a Very Special man. Doonie always had a good and encouraging word for you no matter how he was feeling he always had a smile for you. He will always hold a special place in my heart for being there for me and my brothers while our Mother was passing into her Eternal home. I will never forget how we all stood in a big circle around her bed in the ICU and we would each say a memory of something funny that we did with Moma and when it was time Doonie said let's sing and he started singing Amazing Grace and we all joined in and as my Beautiful Mother took her last breath here on this earth we were all singing. Such a Precious Memory we have of a Very Sad and hard time. I will always Love You Cuz! This is not Goodbye its I will see you later!

My heart pours out with you Oma, Joan, & Shelly and for you. So many fond memories of Donne as so many of us have, especially the love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness, self-control, and faithfulness. Today as I worship in song, the first played is who and whoms Donne is and always will be. I share these words from the song titled, I am a Believer by Rhett Walker: I walk a bit different now Now that my heart's been found Nothing really feels the same I hold my head a bit higher I lift my voice a bit louder Yeah, something inside has changed I am a mountain mover, water walker, more than just an overcomer 'Cause I've been set free I am a gospel preacher, heart on fire, freedom singing testifier 'Cause I've been redeemed! May we all take a part of Donne and follwow Jesus and Go into the world and make Disciples. Love you all! Love and will miss the Doone!!!! I
