William “Billy” Conner

January 11, 1961 - February 14, 2022

William “Billy” Conner, Jr., 61, died Monday, February 14, 2022, at Baptist Hospitals of Southeast Texas – Beaumont. Billy was born January 11, 1961, to Mary Frances Gulli Conner and William Coda Conner, Sr.

Billy loved his family, friends, and fur babies.  He enjoyed fishing, playing golf with the guys, and grilling for the countless people that came for whatever meal he was offering. He spent more time blowing off his driveway and patio than most people would in a lifetime. He had a passion for his yard work so much so that he would mow three times a week during the summer months. One of his greatest accomplishments was coaching little league baseball to hundreds of children, including his son Coda. He spent the last twenty-plus years working with the elderly, a job he truly enjoyed. Billy will be truly missed but never forgotten.

He is survived by his wife, Melinda Conner of Beaumont; son, William Coda Conner III and his girlfriend, Alyssa Ellis, Lake Charles, Louisiana; daughters, Katy Branch and her husband, Breeze, of Beaumont; Devon Pattarozzi and her husband, Dennis, of Vidor; son, Christopher Smith and his wife, Donnell, of Beaumont; sister, Cheryl Conner of Lumberton; Sharon Langston and her husband, Larry, of Lumberton; grandchildren, Corbin Branch, Caine Barclay, Carmyn Barclay, Paige Rains, Noah Rains, Blaine Pattarozzi, Kyrstin Smith, Jaxon Smith, Laini Smith; nieces, Kim Conner, Christina Kanakis; and nephews, Cody Seay and his wife, Lydia Seay.

Honorary pallbearers are Ricky Riggs, Keith Henke, Todd Legendre, Bubba Gonzales, Jeff Brushaber, Jimmy Wood, Mike Dickerson, Joe Kirksey, TJ Legendre, Logan Henke, Butch Wenner, Kenny Sterling, and Ben Mazzra.

Billy was preceded in death by his sister, Darlene Blakesley and his parents.

So many memories… We were neighbors n grew up together. I was close friends with Sharon and my little brother, David was always with Billy. We were always outside back then, doing what kids do. I thought Billy didn’t like me because he liked to throw things at me, pine cones, sticks etc. He greatly enjoyed taking my bike and hiding it! My brother told me he likes you or he wouldn’t be picking on you! As we all grew up I saw Billy become a sincerely good man. I was so very happy when he found Melinda and fell totally in love. I must say Billy was hilarious without trying! A very special man that will be loved and missed by many. I’m praying for Melinda, Coda n family, that our good Lord gives you peace n comfort in this heartbreaking time. RIP my old friend.
