Patricia Beatrice Culver, 92, of Sour Lake, died Tuesday, June 25th, 2024. She was born on June 6th, 1932, to Margaret Hilda Mott and Percy Arthur Gunner in Walton-on-Thames, Surrey, England. She was a professional dancer with Julie Andrews before coming to America in 1951 to marry her one and only husband, when she was 19 years old, and he was 21. Together they created a huge family. They were married for 71 years, and 9 months, until the Lord called him home exactly one year and nine days before she, too, would pass from this life. Eric was induced to be born by the 4th of July. However, the induction did not take. When he was born via c-section, his face was scrunched up, frowning and he opened his eyes as if in disbelief. A healthy baby boy was born. Being first time parents with Eric was a great experience and God given privilege. He brought in so much joy, and happiness with each milestone. He loved what his mama and daddy loved growing up. His brain was a sponge soaking up all knowledge and information. He was a sweetheart who loved to talk. Doris loved to talk about growing up on her parent’s farm outside of Greenfield with her siblings, and traveling with her forever love, Glen, who celebrated 61 years of marriage until his passing in 2013. Doris, Glen and their son Randy moved from Iowa to Texas in 1956, where in 1959, she became a founding member of Redeemer Lutheran Church and would later become a member of The Mission Circle Lutheran’s Women’s Group. A faithful veteran, Robert served in the United States Army as a SP4 E4 in the 173rd airborne brigade and a sergeant in the 82nd airborne division. Some of his most treasured stories are from fighting alongside his fellow soldiers in the Vietnam War and jumping out of airplanes to strategically support the mission there. Larry Lamar Lewis, 83, of Beaumont, passed away on Friday, May 31, 2024 at home after a brief illness. He was born on October 11, 1940 in Beaumont, Texas to Edna Mott Lewis and Sam Lewis. Larry was a lifelong resident of Southeast Texas. He graduated from French High School in 1959 and worked primarily for Crown Zellerbach, James River Corp., and eventually Printpack, Inc. as a supervisor and shift foreman. In 1967, Larry married Sharon Kennedy, and they enjoyed 56 years of marriage and life together. Larry enjoyed hunting and fishing, but mostly he loved spending time with his family over a pot of gumbo or a kitchen full of kibbeh, tabbouleh, stuffed grape leaves, and stuffed squash, as he loved the Lebanese food he grew up on. John O. “Bill” Clayton, 97, of Vidor, Texas, passed away on Friday, May 31, 2024, surrounded by his loved ones. He was born in Quinlan, Oklahoma, on August 13, 1926, to Lelia L. Newman and Charles E. Clayton. John was a longtime resident of Beaumont, Texas.  He grew up on his family farm in Oklahoma where he enjoyed helping his dad by tilling the land and gardening.  He graduated from Richmond High School and later went to Oklahoma A&M (later renamed OSU, Oklahoma State University) and graduated with his Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Engineering.  He began his professional career as an electrical engineer with General Electric (GE).  During his time with GE, he traveled all over the country, positively impacting the lives of his co-workers and friends he made along the way.  After a long and fulfilling career of 40+ years, he retired from GE.  He enjoyed his retirement by […]
